In the truck I use a head set to not only talk, but to listen to books, pod casts, as well as music. One headset has never been everything I wanted as the headsets that go around the neck pick up too much background noise.  The headsets with the large ear piece do not pick up the background noise but we look pretty dorky running around with this on top of our heads.  As the result I have one headset that I use when listening to my music, podcasts, and books, when needed this headset can also be used to answer the phone.  My Blue Parrot headset is used in the truck when talking on the phone only.  The Blue Parrot is not good for listening to music as I have not found a way to get it to skip to the next song and after a time my ear hurts.

In my search for the perfect headset I thought I might have found it in the Apple Airbuds and boy was I wrong.  I forgot to ask the proper questions.  First will it hook up to multiply devices? When listening to music can I easily skip a song?  Can I easily answer the phone or hang up?  Can I place what I am listening to on hold?  The answer to most of these questions is “NO” or if so I have not figured it out (not real user friendly if wanting to do something different).

When answering the phone with Airbuds it works sometimes and other times I hang up on people.  To answer you tap on the top of the ear bud and sometimes it answers and sometimes not depending on how you tapped it.  I can be an impatient person and if one tap doesn’t work than five will… Yep that is how I would hang up on people.

I am always looking for the perfect head set and when I saw the Apple Airbuds I thought finally there it is.  They are small and not obnoxious and they have a little container to carry them in to recharge.  When talking to people the back-ground noise was minimal and I heard rave reviews.  After waiting a month or two and asking more questions I decided I had to have a set even though they are expensive, I believe I gave $159.00 for my set.

Positives

Very easy to pair

Stay in my ears really well

            Recharge quickly

Can wear in public and with my longer hair they are very hard to see

Can hear voices fantastic on them

Easy to carry the charging case

Negatives

I still find them hard to answer and often hang up on people

They require a double tap on the ear bud

I cannot skip to the next song when listening to music

I cannot hook up to multiple devices.

I have to disconnect from my computer when a call comes in usually meaning I miss the call and have to call back

They pick up more background noise than I thought they should

They run out of battery quickly

They get lost easy…. After writing this blog I must have left the case on a table as I no longer have them.  What a waste of money for me.

Jimmy wrote a great blog on why he likes his set and he was very gracious sharing pictures with me!  New Headset Tech

Will I buy them again? “No” I would buy another LG headset that goes around my neck as I can wear that in public and it vibrates when I have a call coming in.   Is the Airbud a good head set I believe yes and they would work for most people.  If I had asked the right questions instead of assuming to much I would not have made this purchase.
