Here we are again at the first day of The Great American Truck Show in Dallas, Texas. Oh, what a great feeling it is to be back in The Lone Star State to see stuff on display from all around the trucking industry! It is the one of only a handful of times I get to meet with my fellow trucker friends and catch up as to what has been going on since Mid-America. For all of you who can make it down, this is a “must go to” event with lots of networking to be had for anyone from company drivers to fleet owners.
A couple of things I am proud to be signed up for this year are the Trucking Solutions Group health walk and their blood drive in partnership with The American Red Cross. The health walk is scheduled for the morning of Saturday 8/23/14 at 9:00am to raise awareness of the need for truckers to live a healthier lifestyle. It will be open to anyone that wants to sign up and come along to enjoy some wonderful scenery along the way. The blood drive will be held Friday and Saturday during the show in booth 5057 and no appointment is necessary. I will be stationed, today through Sunday, in the Team Run Smart area of the Freightliner booth 12113 with the rest of my fellow Team Run Smart Pros. Stop in to see the latest happenings within the Team Run Smart community and say “Hi” in person! When stopping in, be sure to get entered in the raffle for a chance at some “end of show” prizes given away each afternoon. Be sure to check out the FIT system as well, which can be another great tool for staying in shape on the road.
Of course, there will be a lot of spit polish and shiny chrome on display with all of the Pride and Polish show trucks on display. I know I am not going to miss getting my fill of those lookers either! I hope everyone coming has a great time and I look forward to seeing you if you are in attendance!
