The new MICHELIN® ONCall 2.0program is an expansion of MICHELIN’s ONCall emergency road service (ERS).  The new comprehensive service will offer a “one call does it all” nationwide solution for fleets and owner-operators in need of breakdown assistance.  The new service offers mechanical, towing, and tracking services in addition to its trusted tire services.  MICHELIN ONCall 2.0 includes innovative tracking and reporting features, which include LIVETRACKTM real-time breakdown monitoring, and FIXPIXTM tire event pictures.

The service, available in the United States, will bring fleets peace of mind by providing consistent service, event transparency, and accountability for all of their breakdowns.  It will allow maintenance managers to be there at virtually every breakdown event in order to manage the event. This translates into fleet productivity and optimizes vehicle uptime.

Customers of the new mechanical breakdown services program receive coverage for roadside repair for improved CSA compliance.  The service includes:

  • Road repair Lights
  • Brakes
  • Suspension work
  • Jump starts
  • Fuel delivery
  • Lockouts

There is multi-language support available through the U.S.-based call centers.  Diesel technicians, who are available 24/7, help identify potential issues and work with drivers to determine the most cost-effective solution. Towing services are available for Class 5 to 8 vehicles.  When services are needed, the MICHELIN ONCall 2.0 service will arrange transportation of the truck to the customer’s location of choice. Towing options include:

  • Light-, medium- & heavy-duty towing
  • Rotators
  • Lowboys
  • Winching

In the event of truck abandonment, MICHELIN ONCall 2.0 will provide secured storage and cleaning options.

The MICHELIN tire breakdown offering will continue to provide consistent, quality service and pricing. MICHELIN® Commercial Service NetworkTM dealers will continue to stock key tire sizes 24/7, and supply the industry’s most innovative tires and retreads. The service has multi-language support and a convenient dealer locator app. ERS online dashboard reports allow fleets to access state-of-the-art information, including events by servicing dealers and tire downtime metrics. Fleet managers can spend less time gathering and analyzing data and more time making critical business decisions.

The LIVETRACK feature allows fleet managers to monitor events as if they are in the dispatcher’s seat, following every breakdown with real-time dispatch screen views and tracking estimated roll times. Fleets can also access the Event Viewer for post-event reporting with case-specific details of mechanical/towing and tire service calls.

The FIXPIX feature provides photos of the serviced tires and work order, which can only be taken at the breakdown site and viewed online or on a mobile device. It delivers an extra measure of trust and accountability to tire ERS service, ensuring assets are managed correctly. This service is available through the MICHELIN Commercial Service Network and other participating dealers.

Registering for the MICHELIN ONCall 2.0 service will save the fleet time, but it is not necessary in order to use the service.  You don’t have to be a registered fleet to use the MICHELIN ONCall 2.0, but registration will help to provide fast service with fleet-specific specifications and reporting benefits.  100% of the invoices are reviewed against the actual services performed for time, materials and labor.  Michelin National Accounts will enjoy the benefit of a simplified billing process through centralized invoicing. The program will be available in Canada in late spring 2014.

Looking forward to learning more about this program. We have used the Michelin Advantage program for years and it has came in very handy.
