What I like about a stir fry dish is the versatility as a stir fry can be made with any meat or no meat at all and the meal is great.  Sometimes creating a meal and getting a chance to eat in a non moving truck has to be very quick and this is one of those meals.  Easy to make using ingredients we have on hand and the meal sticks with you.  Be creative and see what kind of meal you can create!

Recipe:

Brown Rice - Cook in the bag
Bean Sprouts
Bamboo Shoots
Water Chestnuts
Green Onion
Celery
Fresh or ground ginger - to taste
chopped garlic
Sliced beef
low sodium soy sauce
beef bullion cube

Cook the brown rice in the bag in the rice cooker following the directions on box.  While that is cooking slice up the vegetables that you are wanting to add to your stir-fry.  I then placed the cut up vegetables in the strainer and when the rice was done cooking I drained the water over the vegetables and left the rice bag on top of vegetables to drain.

I then cut my sliced beef into smaller pieces and browned for a couple of minutes.  Add the vegetables to the beef and if this is to dry add a cup of water and a bullion cube and if wanted a few drops of soy sauce.  Cook until the vegetables are still slightly crisp.

Cut open the bag of drained rice and place a serving on the plate and then pile the stir-fry on top.

This is a very quick and easy meal to create.

Substitutions

You can easily substitute different vegetables like carrots, bell peppers, broccoli, or cauliflower. If you choose to also add tomatos add those at the very end.

You can also substitute chicken for beef, you will just need to cook the chicken a little longer.

The rice cooker makes awesome omelets! That is Bobs favorite thing I make in the Rice Cooker.

I did not know you could use the wok too much. Little imagination you could even make an omelet in one. Better then eating fast food or truck stop food all the time.

I just may have to break out my wok after reading this Blog . I used to use my wok for everything . My wife told me I had gone to far when and had crossed a line when I made Italian sausage stir fry . This led to me being banned from the wok for a little while.

I totally agree on stir fry. You can be as simple or creative as you like. For a cooking simpleton like me, stir fry can be easy. I like to buy frozen mixed vegies and chicken breast - it is done in minute in one pan.
