FIT Stepper & Fit Stepper with FIT System

While at the Great America Truck Show we added The Fit System Stepper.  The Fit System all ready has a home in our Cascadia and this addition is really going to help us get more exercise.  We are often on loads where we cannot get away from truck very far and it is hard to get in many steps.

What attracted me to Fit Stepper is the size and weight.  The Stepper is small and will fit easily in the corner.  The Stepper is easy to get out and to use.  When I asked Bob Perry if the Stepper would help my knees he immediately said a resounding "YES".   I was in a very odd motorcycle accident several years ago and I broke the lower bones in my leg and really twisted my knee.  While the bones are fine, the knee reminds me that am never healed correctly.  I am always looking for ways to improve the muscle around the knee and strengthen my legs.

The Fit Stepper works with the Fit System bands for a double cardio workout.   In a very short period of time I am breathing hard, as time is going by I am gaining strength and endurance.  Bob and I recently joined the Saint Christopher’s Fund Driven to Be Healthy Challenge and this product will be of great benefit when we cannot get away from the truck to exercise.

During my last health checkup I found out I have started losing bone mass in my right leg. I was told I need to start walking more to slow down this bone loss.  I learned that Steppers are like a stair climbing machine/treadmill.   The idea that this will work as a stair-climbing machine really excited me, as it is difficult to find hills and valleys in the truck stops to exercise different muscles than we normally use walking across a level parking lot.

My staying power on the FIT Stepper is not long and when I add the resistance band from our FIT System it really raised my heart rate quickly.  Some days I just use the Stepper, and other days, if I have not been able to get out and walk, I will use both the Stepper and the Fit System resistance bands while I am stepping.

Stepping helps to strengthen pelvic muscles, and that is a problem when we sit for so many hours a day.  There are many more muscles the Stepper will help tone and strengthen.  The more I read about steppers and the health benefits I am very excited that we have one in our Cascadia.

The FIT System and the FIT Stepper can be found on the Rolling Strong Web site.

The bad part Jeff is it sneaks up on us and when we are least expecting it we find out we have bone loss. Using the FIT Stepper is a workout...

Truckers need to do some weight bearing exercise - especially women. I have seen in my mother and grandmother the results of osteoporosis and loss of bone mass. Weight bearing exercise - walking - running - stepping - lifting weights (like the band system in your FIT kit can slow the onset of brittle bones.
