2004 Bob getting ready to leave with his trainer.

Part 1
Large truck load carrier where Bob got out from under the truck, as a diesel mechanic, and behind the wheel.  The carrier taught both of us a lot about being away from home for extended periods, using truck stop showers, and a lot about trucking etiquette.

Part 2

Started researching Expediting and decided to become owner operators leased to FedEx Custom Critical.  We have enjoyed an amazing ten years with a great carrier and many helpful employees.  We learned about expediting and being successful owner operators while having the time to see many attractions in the United States. These years have created many fantastic memories and at the same time allowed us to purchase three trucks, an antique Corvette and a new home on a beautiful 10 acres.

Part 3

It is now time to start another chapter in our lives.  We have decided to expand our opportunities and try out a different business model than the typical expedite experience.  Bob and I have chosen to move to Landstar where we plan to create at least another ten years of fantastic memories.  We realize that many of our friends, acquaintances and the readers of our blogs and articles will be enquiring about our decision and any reasons behind our carrier change.  Suffice it to say, Bob and I have led a rather adventurous life and this decision is simply a desire to try a different experience.  It’s as simple as that.

Linda Caffee

Bob and Linda started their driver careers after their children left home for college in 2000. Bob started as a driver for a large motor carrier with Linda as a rider. They decided to enter the Expedite industry as team drivers in 2005 and purchased their first Freightliner. Both, Bob and Linda have had their Class A licenses since the early 80's starting out driving in the oil field and hauling grain as fill in drivers where Bob worked as a diesel mechanic. Linda worked at the local country courthouse in data processing.

Excellence is in front of both of you and I'm sure you will run it down and be as successful if not more so than at your last carrier. I look forward to learning about your new carrier, business model and experiences. Don't forget about the updates on your brand new truck!

We are excited about our new adventure and learning something new. It was not an easy choice to leave our former company where we had many friends and we were comfortable with that system.
