Fuel is the owner-operator’s number one variable expense and that is not going to change any time soon. However, during these times of high fuel costs it is possible to increase your cash flow by reducing your fuel expense.

Watch "Driving for Fuel Efficiency" to learn tips and techniques on reducing your fuel expenses. Chris Harrington, business consultant at ATBS, presented this informational webinar along with Henry Albert, Team Run Smart Pro, who is currently averaging over 10 MPG with his Freightliner Cascadia Evolution.

Webinar Agenda:
- Why Fuel Efficiency is Important - 45-50% of an owner-operator's revenue is spent on fuel.
- Idling the Engine - idling consumes approximately 1 gallon of fuel per hour.
- Sweet Spot RPM - finding the sweet spot where your engine runs.
- Progressive Shifting - how it can vary depending on the terrain and your loads.
- Throttle Pedal - the biggest impact on fuel economy.
- Resources
- Questions

I have been in the trucking Industry for more than two decades. I have experience as a truck driver and in addition, have also been employed as a Freight Broker and have experience managing a fleet of trucks. I have been with ATBS since September 2001 and was one of the first employees of the company, watching it grow from just a few clients to the thousands we assist today. In my free time, I enjoy motorcycle riding, skiing and spending time with friends and family.

When I talk with owner operators and they see us averaging over 8 mpg and we talk.
The average owner operator runs about 120,000 miles per year. An 8 mpg truck will purchase 15,000 gallons of fuel. A 6 mpg truck will purchase 20,000 gallons a year. That is about a $20,000 difference-look forward to the Webinar
