Without effort.                         With effort.

With the spring and summer months upon us, it’s time to think of preparing the lawn for the growing season ahead. If you want a plush, green and healthy lawn you will need to spend some time researching the proper grass seed/fertilizer for your specific region. You will want to aerate seed, fertilize and water the lawn for that perfect green grass. This will take time and effort on your part to receive the benefits and rewards that come from proper lawn maintenance. Just Looking at your neighbor’s yard won’t make your yard any greener.

If you are an owner operator leased to a carrier or a company driver, the grass will often look greener on the other side of the fence. The dissatisfaction can lead to driver’s job hopping from one company to another in search of the greener grass. Just as you would need to research the particular grass seed for your region, it’s important to first research a potential carrier prior to jumping for work. Be sure to do all the checks so to speak in regards to lease options, benefits and contract agreements. Understand what you are signing up for prior to making a decision to work for a particular carrier. Talk with driver’s who already work for the company as well as comments on social media and online forums. If you want positive results from your time spent working for a company, doing your homework will go a long way. After you’ve put in some time with a carrier, make sure that you continue to cultivate, network and maintain good working relationships. This is the same as adding that needed fertilizer and water to the seed for proper future growth. You cannot just expect to put down the grass seed on hard soil and expect grass to grow miraculously into that plush, green, healthy lawn.

Unless you are inherently wealthy, you will work for many years throughout your lifetime. Selecting and growing with your carrier takes effort and maintenance on your part. Once you have the green grass growing, it’s important to keep out weeds and oversee the annual process of maintenance. You cannot give up but instead must continue to work and grow. Keep an open line of communication with management and be prepared to change as the carriers business evolves. Be a problem solver and always maintain a positive attitude. Before you jump over the fence for greener pastures, make sure you’ve done everything you an to maintain the ground you are already standing on. Finally, make sure you don’t become a weed in the lawn of your employer.

I vote for the without effort and without non-native invasive species. Not being British I have no love for the formal garden and no servants to slave over it.
