Starting to put some road behind us.

Day 2 post Our trip began with the normal controlled start up procedures. We left Phoenix at 8:00am and traveled 235 miles (4.75 hours) to our mid point break – Holbrook, AZ to the HOPI Travel Center. The routes we used were loop 101 north, I 17 north to I-40 east. This day was extremely windy with over 50 mph cross winds. As we made our way towards Flagstaff, AZ we experienced many hard pulls. After leaving Holbrook, we traveled on I-40 east for 219 miles to Albuquerque, NM (3.75 hours). The day continued with strong cross winds which eased up in the evening. At this point in our trip, since leaving San Diego, my average m.p.g. has climbed to 8.24. Today, we traveled 454 miles. We’re a total of 802 miles into our cross country journey.

Tomorrow, I’ll post the results from Day 3
