Operation Roger is a non-profit organization that matches truckers with pets that need to be transported all across the country to their permanent homes.  You can check out their website here to volunteer.  I was recently made aware of the organization and a specific move that one of their volunteer trucker teams participated in.  Jim and Amy Allen are team owner-operators that constantly traverse the country.  They picked up Bruno, a young St. Bernard mix, who was a rescued stray found in West Virginia.  This dog was in terrible condition when found, but quickly fostered to good health thanks to the people at Southern West Virginia Animal League (SWVAL).

After Bruno was nursed to health, SWVAL posted online that he was ready for adoption.  Soon, a family all the way in Topeka, KS answered the call to adopt Bruno.  It was then that the logistical effort to get Bruno to Kansas began.  Jim and Amy picked Bruno up in their Freightliner Cascadia and took them home to Delaware briefly before they were assigned a cross country load that would get them to Bruno's new home in Topeka. Bruno was safely delivered to his new family in Topeka, thanks to generous (and patient) volunteers like Jim and Amy and other Operation Roger volunteers all across the country.  As you can see below, Bruno enjoyed the ride!

There are many great stories about Operation Roger and the animals that have been transported across the United States.
