Signs , signs , everywhere the is signs … That's how the song goes. Lately I have been noticing a total disregard for signs of all kinds . It does not seem to matter what a sign says it ignored . No parking, lane ending, speed limit, no trucks, weight restriction, bridge height, reduced speed, yield, lane restrictions and so many more signs are simply being not being acknowledged .

           Example

There is a stretch of Interstate 85 in South Carolina where there is signs instructing the truck drivers to use the left lane in the construction zone for at least twenty miles and there is still trucks that will use the right lane the entire length of the area in question . There is a good reason for this lane restriction as the right lane is the shoulder of the highway . The shoulder of the highway is not designed to take the weight our trucks place on the roadbed . In this case there is bright orange signs placed approximately every quarter of a mile .

Signs are posted for a reason ! Lets start reading the signs followed by using their instructions as intended by the person who posted them !
