Hello,

On Saturday, June 23rd, I attended the “Transport for Christ Rally” held at the Lebanon Expo Center and Fairgrounds in Lebanon, PA. The event began at 10:30am and the weather was fantastic. Kenton Good with Freightliner of Lancaster, PA invited me to the Rally. Kenton and I both drove our Freightliner Cascadia’s  to the event.

There was approximately 200 trucks which participated in the “Parade of Trucks”. We took the 11 mile journey throughout Southwestern Lebanon County. There were lots of people along the parade route and many seemed to be fans of truckers as there were many cheers and smiles as we drove past.

All of the trucks parked in formation awaiting the start of the parade.

This was the 31st annual Rally in Lebanon, PA. The purpose of the rally is to spread the word about Jesus and the Transport for Christ Mission. There were many festivities and activities including rodeo’s and various contests which were held for children and adults of all ages. They had garden tractor pulls, pedal tractor pulls, auctions for all ages and all types of merchandise. There were concerts and programs offered for the children. At dusk, the drivers displayed their lights in a massive light show.

The rally ended with worship on Sunday and a buffet brunch.

Transport for Christ (TFC) is a mission dedicated to reaching, supporting and encouraging truckers. Established in 1952, TFC was primarily a mobile ministry with traveling pastors which moved from truck stop to truck stop.

TFC today now includes permanent chapels in truck stops across the country. In 1986, the first permanent chapel was established in Pennsylvania at the Wilco Travel Plaza off I-78 near Harrisburg.

This was my first time attending this event and I found it very peaceful and the setting was relaxing. It reminded me of a family reunion as so many people connected with family and friends. This was a great day to gather and support this awesome mission for the truckers. Hopefully, I can return next year.

Till next time… be safe,

Henry
