So I have many favorite times of the year, but this is my favorite time of the year during this time of the year if you get what I mean.  Those people that leave Christmas lights on all night are my hero's.  Sometimes early in the morning when I drive I see only a few houses brightly lit up.  All of the lights are awesome, but my favorite is the random house with lots of colored lights and imagination.

In our house the tree is decorated with random memories, when the girls were born, that special ornament they made in kindergarten, and many more memories are hung on our Christmas tree.  In the past I made Christmas Stockings for both of the girls and Brandy since has made Christmas stockings for Bob and I.  These are also hung on the wall with care.  Most everything that is displayed at Christmas has a special memory, some are sad as they were girts from a loved one that is no longer with us, to some that make me laugh as the person that made me a gift know my quirky personality.  All in the entire house at this time of year is a walk down memory lane.

Christmas is the time of year when we are together with both of our girls and this year everyone will be at our house.  Brandy our youngest daughter will be bringing her fiancĂ© and this is his first trip to Saint Louis.   We will do something special so that Grant will not be stuck in the house playing games all day, I am sure this will include a trip down to see the Saint Louis Arch and other Saint Louis attractions.

While we are home we will prepare meals that are all of our favorites and we will play lots of games!  We have the Cribbage game set up as the kitchen tables center piece, backgammon, UNO, SkipBo and decks of cards set close by and our first game of the day will start while drinking morning coffee.  Brandy and I are the early birds and both of us enjoy a good game of cribbage.  This will probably be Grant, the fiancĂ©s first time of visiting a house that does not have network TV, while we have a TV it is only used for DVD's.

Christmas is no different then any other times of the year though and business comes first.  The truck is scheduled to have the overhead run and to be checked over.  We have dental appointments and eye appointments as well.  It is about time to renew our CDL's and we will need to have our background checks run again.  Once all the mandatory things are done we can enjoy family and Christmas.

Normally I am a hard rock or alternative rock type of person, but during this time of year I listen to the sounds of Christmas and religious Christmas songs.  What a fantastic way to end the year.

Still counting down the days until Brandy and Grant fly in December 24th ....
