I don't think I've ever seen a truck fly through the air before, but thanks to someone's dash cam video recorder, I can now say that I have.  Thankfully, the driver and his 7 year old son were not seriously injured in this crash. Check out the video by following this link.

The driver took evasive action to avoid another vehicle drifting into his lane according to a state trooper who interviewed the driver.  After you view the video, you'll see how fortunate the driver and his son were as well as others. There could've easily been other motorists in the path of the truck as it flew up the embankment and jumped the perpendicular highway crossing over the interstate.

Year after year, trucking remains in the top 10 of most dangerous jobs in our country based on mortality rates that are tracked by the US Bureau of Labor Statistics.  I don't like that statistic at all.  There's just something dangerous about driving large, heavy vehicles hundreds of thousands of miles a year. And this is another example of a driver's evasive action from one dangerous situation that caused a crash anyway.  Please be careful and let's get trucking out of the top 10 of most dangerous jobs.

I agree Craig. That was all the information I could find though. The car that caused it all probably never stopped.

That is an amazing video and not in a good way. Until now I had never seen a truck fly either. I'm very glad that no one was seriously injured. I'm also glad the driver was paying attention and it wasn't caused by him being distracted in any way. Just another example of a 4-wheeler that caused a truck crash. It would be interesting to know what caused the 4-wheeler to leave it's travel lane.
