Peaceful and quiet time of the day

We live in a very small area and cannot close the bedroom door, go into the kitchen to make a cup of coffee, and then settle in to do a little work on the computer.  In my opinion the best time of the day is before the sun comes up and I get the most work done at this time.  My first problem is to not wake Bob.

If we are going to be parked when I get up in the morning I lay out all of what I need to make coffee so that I do not need to open and close cupboards to get out my supplies.  I use as little light as possible.  My computer is in its travel bag and easy to set up in the front seat.  Once I have my coffee made if it is really cold I put on a light jacket and grab a blanket.  The bottom of the curtains are left open to allow heat from the sleeper to escape to the front.  I wear my jacket and lay the blanket across my legs.

I settle myself in with my computer and my coffee and get to work!  If we are a truck stop that I like I will gather up my computer, my phone, and head on into the truck stop to work in a corner of the restaurant and have coffee.  Sometimes this is a nice break from the truck and at other times I prefer the quiet of the truck.

In the summer and when it is very hot we have a small fan we use in the sleeper.  We will set the fan on the floor and open the bottom of the sleeper curtains around the fan so that it blows in cool air from the sleeper to the cab.

If I am caught up on my work I use a head lamp and I work on my counted cross stitch.  As I have aged I need magnifiers to see the little squares but I have found with the head lamp it makes it much easier.  I use rechargeable batteries for the head lamp as it seems to go through batteries fast.  This I find is the most peaceful way to start the day and gather my thoughts.

Bob enjoys watching movies and play games on his IPad when he stays up late.  He has a small portable DVD player that he uses with a head set.  The head set keeps everything quiet in the cab as well as the sleeper.

We have swivel seats in our truck and they are like recliners when they are turned to the side and are very comfortable.  It is easy to spend several hours up front working on the computer or watching a movie and letting our partner have a peaceful sleep.

To help each other sleep we keep the cab of the truck quiet, we keep our movements to a minimum, and we do not get in and out of the truck constantly.  This is also not a good time to work on the truck or to do a deep cleaning.  Our driving shifts are from 3 or 4 in the morning to 3 or 4 in the afternoon and this fits both of us perfectly.
